"Cine en enero | Cinema in January"

Bajo el nombre de "Germania", el Cinematógrafo del Centro Municipal de Arte presenta en enero su nuevo ciclo destinado a las producciones más destacadas en que intervinieron cineastas o productores alemanes.
Después de las vacaciones decembrinas, reinicia actividades este sábado 5 de enero y continuará la exhibición de cintas alemanas hasta el día 26. Como se sabe las funciones son cada sábado, a las 18:00 horas, el acceso a este recinto es gratuito, pero con cupo limitado a 50 personas.

"Réquiem por un imperio” (Taking Sides)
Berlín, al final de la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Estados Unidos ha tomado la ciudad y la guerra parece haber terminado. Pero hay encuentros fuera del campo de batalla: un oficial americano debe interrogar al mejor director de orquesta de todos los tiempos, que parece haber apoyado al régimen Nazi durante la guerra. Poco a poco entenderá que muchas veces, conocer la verdad no es una bendición.

"Días Perros” ( Hundstage)
Drama psicológico que se desarrolla en un caluroso fin de semana de verano en Viena, cuando se cruzan seis historias conectadas entre sí que revelan un mundo de decepciones y almas solitarias. La canícula aprieta y los personajes se entregan al calor del sol en bermudas y bikinis por el día; y durante la noche con alcohol, sexo y música. La tensión y la temperatura suben en esos días perros.

"Fitzcarraldo” (Fitzcarraldo)
Brian Fitzgerald "Fitzcarraldo" es un hombre excéntrico que ama la ópera con obsesión. Decide construir un teatro de ópera en plena selva amazónica. Para ello debe conseguir primero el dinero y hace fortuna en el negocio del caucho. Para realizar su plan debe transportar un gran barco fluvial fuera del agua por encima de un monte, para lo cual cuenta con la ayuda de un gran número de nativos. Una epopeya completa.

“Adiós a Lenin” (Good Bye, Lenin)
Es octubre de 1989 y una mujer orgullosa de ser socialista y dirigente del partido comunista entra en coma durante ocho meses. Al despertar, su hijo se ve obligado a ocultarle la caída del Muro de Berlín y el triunfo del capitalismo en Alemania Oriental, tejiendo alrededor de ella una realidad alterna para que crea que nada ha cambiado.


Cinema in January

The Cinema Club in its German cycle

Under the name “Germania”, the Cinema Club of the Municipal Arts Center presents its new cycle in January. It will focus on the most outstanding German film makers or producers. After a short break in December, the activities return this Saturday, January 5th and will continue with German films until January 26th. Showtime is at 6:00 PM every Saturday. Access is free, but seating is limited to 50 people.

“Taking Sides”
This film takes place in Berlin at the end of the Second World War. The USA has taken the city and the war appears to be over, but there are encounters off the battle field: an American officer has to interrogate the best orchestra director of all time who seems to have supported the Nazis during the war. Little by little you will understand that sometimes it is not a blessing to know the truth.

“Hundstage”
This is a psychological drama that occurs on a warm summer weekend in Vienna. Six stories interconnect that reveal a world of deception and lonely souls. The heat stultifies and the characters pass the hot, sunny days in shorts and bikinis and the nights with alcohol, sex and music. The tension and the temperature rise in these “dog days”.

“Fitzcarraldo”
Brian Fitzgerald, “Fitzcarraldo”, is an eccentric man who loves opera to the point of obsession, so he decides to build an opera theater in the middle of the Amazon jungle. First he has to get money and he makes a fortune in the rubber business. Then he has to transport a large boat overland and he enlists the aid of lots of natives. This is a total epic.

“Good Bye, Lenin”
It is October of 1989 and a woman who is proud to be a socialist and director of the local communist party goes into a coma for 8 months. When she wakes up, her son is obliged to hide the fall of the Berlin Wall and the triumph of capitalism in East Germany from her. He weaves an alternate reality around her so that she thinks nothing has changed.
