"Dejan fuera de los SAG a Spielberg y, casi, a Del Toro"

NUEVA YORK._ El Sindicato de Actores de la Pantalla ya dio su veredicto y deja fuera de su contienda al drama de Steven Spielberg sobre los Papeles del Pentágono “The Post”, con todo y las actuaciones de Meryl Streep y Tom Hanks; y casi deja fuera La forma de agua de Guillermo del Toro, que no fue nominada a mejor elenco, aunque sí les mereció candidaturas a Sally Hawkins y Richard Jenkins.

Así, la carrera por el Óscar de momento se considera abierta, y al reducir el campo a cinco películas para su principal galardón el miércoles, el sindicato dejó fuera a muchos favoritos.

Por el contrario, respaldó al drama protagonizado por Frances McDormand “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri”, y a la comedia romántica desairada por los Globos de Oro “The Big Sick”.

“Three Billboards” de Martin McDonaugh encabezó la lista de nominados a los Premios SAG con cuatro candidaturas que incluyen mejor elenco y menciones para McDormand, Sam Rockwell y Woody Harrelson. Esto se suma a los reconocimientos que ha recibido la cinta, entre ellos seis nominaciones a los Globos de Oro y el premio de la audiencia en el Festival Internacional de Cine de Toronto.

También fueron postulados los elencos de “Lady Bird”, ″Get Out”, ″Mudbound” y “The Big Sick”.

Junto con McDormand y Hawkins, competirán por el premio a la mejor actriz Judi Dench (“Victoria & Abdul”), Saoirse Ronan (“Lady Bird”) y Margo Robbie (“I, Tonya”).

Los nominados a mejor actor son Timothee Chalamet (“Call Me By Your Name”), James Franco (“The Disaster Artist”), Daniel Kaluuya (“Get Out”), Gary Oldman (“Darkest Hour”) y Denzel Washington (“Roman J. Israel, Esq.“).

Los ganadores de los Premios SAG, en su edición 24, se anunciarán el 21 de enero durante una gala televisada presentada por Kristen Bell, en la que se rendirá homenaje por su trayectoria al actor Morgan Freeman.
