Hacer réplicas de los monumentos mazatlecos es la temática de las nuevas creaciones de Sussy Rodríguez, artesana que trabaja la madera country y el MDF reciclado, aplicando en ellas diferentes técnicas de pintura.
En el 2005 emprendió este reto que nació en ella tras un paseo por el malecón, al ver las estatuas o alegorías inspiradas en la obra del pintor Antonio López Sáenz, mismas que decoraban la zona anunciando las fiestas de Carnaval.
Así fue como, además de las figuras carnestolendas, Sussy plasmó en madera algunos monumentos que forman parte de la historia de Mazatlán.
Hasta ahora sus manos han fabricado copias del Monumento al Pescador, el del Acuario Mazatlán, la Mujer Mazatleca y El Venadito, además de representar la regional Danza del Venado.
En el taller de Sussy podrá encontrar además detalles para embellecer su casa, obsequiar o vestir cualquier celebración especial.

Sussy Rodriguez and her replicas of Mazatlan’s monuments

The new theme of Sussy Rodriguez is to make replicas of Mazatlan’s monuments. She is an artist who works with wood and recycled products and applies different painting techniques to them.
She undertook this challenge in 2005 after a stroll along the malecon when she saw the statues and allegories of the famous Mazatlan artist, Antonio Lopez Saenz, the same statues that adorned the area announcing the fiestas of Carnival.
That is how she began to express herself in wood, using some of the monuments that form part of Mazatlan’s history. Her hands have made copies of the Fisherman’s Monument, the Mazatlan Aquarium, The Mazatlan Woman and the Monument to the Deer. In addition she has represented the regional Dance of the Deer.
In Sussy’s workshop you can also find things to beautify your home, to give as gifts or to dress up for special occasions.
