"Alma Mater"

Durante abril y mayo el gran estilo francés invadirá el Cinematógrafo del Centro Municipal de Artes con las siete cintas que conforman el ciclo Francia: Alma Mater.
Recuerde, la cita es a las 18:00 horas, en el CMA que se encuentra enfrente de la Plazuela Machado. La entrada es libre y se recomienda llegar temprano pues el cupo es limitado.


-Sábado 12 de abril
"Génesis” (Genesis, Francia-Italia, 2001)
Un griot, un africano responsable de mantener la tradición oral de la historia, narra la creación del universo, las primeras especies de la Tierra, su transformación, reproducción, supervivencia y, finalmente, su desaparición.

- Sábado 19 de abril
“París, te amo” (Paris, je t´amie, Francia 2001)
Es difícil no enamorarse en París y en esta cinta se presentan 18 historias cortas al respecto. Fue realizada por diferentes actores y directores, muchos de ellos muy famosos y reconocidos.

- Sábado 26 de abril
“Irreversible” (Irreversible, Francia 2002)
Narra la búsqueda emprendida por dos hombres que desean vengar la violación de la novia de uno de ellos (ex novia del otro). La historia transcurre en París, en el lapso de un día.

- Sábado 3 de mayo
“Los coristas” (Les choristes, Francia, 2004)
En 1949 Clément Mathieu es contratado como preceptor de un reformatorio. Frente al método tremendamente represivo del director del lugar, decide "rescatar" a los niños con la ayuda de la música.

"Huyendo del mundo” (Les égarés, Francia, 2003)
En el contexto de la Segunda Guerra una madre y sus dos pequeños hijos huyen del caos en París acompañados por un joven extraño. Ésta pequeña familia trata de sobrellevar las duras circunstancias.

“Réquiem” (Réquiem, Francia-Suiza, 1998)
En busca de un fantasma, el protagonista llega a Lisboa y recorre la ciudad descubriendo a personajes singulares, algunos de los cuales pertenecen a su pasado.




French cinema comes to the Cinema Club

The great French style of cinema comes to the Cinema Club of the Municipal Arts Center during April and May. Seven movies make up the cycle. Showtime is 18:00 at the Municipal Arts Center on Machado Plaza. Entrance is free, but seating is limited to 50 people.

Saturday, April 12th
Genesis (France-Italy, 2001)
A “griot”, an African in charge of maintaining the traditional oral history of his people, narrates the creation of the universe, the first species on earth, their transformation, reproduction, survival and finally, their disappearance.

Saturday, April 19th
Paris, I Love You (France, 2001)
It is difficult not to fall in love in Paris and this movie presents 18 short stories about this. It was made by different actors and directors, many of them well known.

Saturday, April 26th
Irreversible (France, 2002)
This film tells the story of a search undertaken by two men who want to take revenge for the rape of a girlfriend of one of them (who is also the ex girlfriend of the other one). The story takes place in Paris in the course of one day.

Les Choristes (France, 2004)
In 1949, Clement Mathieu is hired as a precept of a reformatory. Faced with the tremendously repressive method of the director of the place, he decides to “rescue” the kids with the help of music.

Les Egares (France, 2003)
In the context of the Second World War, a mother and her two young sons flee the chaos of Paris accompanied by a strange young man and they try to get through some hard circumstances.

Requiem (France-Switzerland, 1998)
Looking for a ghost, the protagonist arrives in Lisbon and roams through the city discovering singular characters, some of whom belong to his past.
