MAZATLÁN._ De las Tres Islas famosas de Mazatlán, usted tiene todas las facilidades para visitar una de ellas, la de enmedio o Isla de Venados. Es la más grande y tiene una playa de aguas tranquilas que facilitan la práctica de buceo, kayak y natación, su fina arena es ideal para tomar un delicioso baño de sol.
La Isla de Venados es un paraíso a 2.3 kilómetros de la playa de la Zona Dorada de Mazatlán, mide aproximadamente 54 hectáreas y en su punto más alto alcanza 178 metros sobre el nivel del mar, ahí se llega en anfibio, catamarán o velero.
Es zona de refugio de fauna silvestre, además de una gran variedad de aves y reptiles, ahí habitan mamíferos como tejones, ardillas, tlacuaches y chivos salvajes, así que al visitarla hay que ser cuidadoso con ellos.
Para ir a la Isla de Venados hay que contratar la transportación con algún operador turístico autorizado para llevar visitantes, el guía dará las indicaciones de lo que está permitido y no en este sitio.
Por ser un área de reserva ecológica, la regla general es: todo lo que se lleva, se regresa. No se permite tirar basura, alimentar o molestar a los animales, dañar la flora, hacer fogatas, ni extraer especies de flora y fauna.
El anfibio
Todos los días sale de la playa que está entre Hotel El Cid Castilla y Hotel Posada Freeman Zona Dorada el vehículo anfibio o "Pato" que lo lleva a la Isla de Venados.

Las Tres Islas
La Isla de Venados forma parte del famoso trío que siempre protege al puerto de la fuerza de los huracanes. Las islas de Chivos, Venados y Pájaros son parte de las 244 islas e islotes del Golfo de California que la UNESCO denominó Patrimonio Natural de la Humanidad, y el Gobierno mexicano las tiene en categoría de Área Natural Protegida.

Visit Deer Island and get close to paradise
Mazatlan has three famous islands and you have everything in order to visit the island in the middle. It is called Deer Island. It is the biggest of the three and it has a perfect sun bathing beach of fine sand bordering tranquil waters that are great for snorkeling, diving, swimming and kayaking.
Deer Island is a paradise that is about a mile offshore from the Golden Zone. It is about 100 acres in size and reaches an altitude of 178 meters at its highest point.
It is a refuge for wild fauna, birds and reptiles and there are badgers, squirrels, wild goats and raccoons, so one must be careful when visiting it.
To get there you must hire transportation with a tourist operator who is authorized to bring visitors. There are sailboats, catamarans and even an amphibious vehicle available. Guides will give instructions as to what is permitted or not on the island. Because it is an ecological area, the general rule is pack out what you bring in. You can not throw garbage, feed or bother the animals, damage the flora, make campfires or take home flora or fauna.

This contraption leaves everyday from the beach between El Cid and the Hotel Posada Freeman in the Golden Zone and goes to the island. It is called "El Pato" or the duck

The three islands
Deer Island is one of the famous trio of islands that protects the port from the forces of hurricanes. Goat Island, Deer Island and Bird Island are part of the 244 islands of the Gulf of California that UNESCO has declared as Natural Patrimony of Humanity and the Mexican government categorizes them as Natural Protected Areas.
